Halloween Food Inspiration

Halloween is my favourite time of year for food creativity. There are so many ways to make your meals and snacks spooktacular (sorry, not sorry). I’m a huge fan of Halloween food and thanks to Instagram & Pintrest my ghoulish grub (again, sorry not sorry) during October always gets the children excited.

Food art itself is a great way to get little ones excited to try new foods. Traditionally Halloween is about sweets and treats, but over the years the creativity with cookie cutters, edible eyes and the like have made every food group spooktastic (just accept it’s going to happen now).

Last year I created a post about alternative Halloween treats for those times when you are trying to reduce the amount of sugar little ones consume. This year I thought I would share some of my favourite recipes from Bloggers and Instagram accounts.

Sweet Treats

Savoury Snacks

  • Stuffed pastry pumpkins from My Foodie Baby on Instagram – I am working on my own version of these. So far they haven’t turned out too well.
  •
  •  Frankentoast from Green Grown Meals on Instagram.
  •
  • Spooky Burger & Chips from Meals For My Two on Instagram.
  •
  • Spider Web Soup from Meals for My Two on Instagram.

Lunchbox Ideas

I’d love to see your Halloween food creations if you’d share them with me. If you’re not following any of the accounts above, make sure you follow them, they have some amazing recipes.

I hope you all have a great Halloween at home this year. What are your plans? We’re  having a party at home with games like bobbing for apples, pin the nose on the pumpkin and find & build the skeleton. The children are excited.

Stay safe, Tijani x
